Hi, I’m Neil. I’ve been studying the power of herbs for over 15 years. I decided to get formal training in herbalism and medicine making in 2012 and I haven’t looked back.
I have seen the power of herbs at work on myself and others, its amazing to see such great results from herbs you would normally throw into a sauce in the kitchen!
My first experience with herbs for healing was with Sage. I had a really bad sore throat and couldn’t get to see a doc for a long time. At the time I was a practicing Pagan and I had written a lot of notes on herbs and their uses in various spells and rituals. Some of the notes I had made actually mentioned herbs as medicine.
Looking through my notes, I saw that Sage can be used to reduce the pain and swelling of a sore throat. As I had a bunch of herbs around, I decided to try it out. I brewed up some Sage tea and felt the relief in a few minutes. I was surprised and amazed that a herb could do that. That spurred me on to look into herbs for healing.
This site, OmniWild, is a consolidation of my notes, research and personal experiences in herbalism.
What is the point of OmniWild?
My aim for this site is give you, the reader, knowledge on herbal medicine, home remedies, and to be a place you can go to for relief.
I want to inspire you to live a greener, more holistic and herbal life. Throw out the chemicals and replace them with earth friendly, herbal alternatives. I want to give you a working knowledge of herbs in a non-technical way. You should be able to bring relief to yourself and your family the same way your ancestors did for hundreds of years.
I’m not going to pretend to be perfect and be living the most eco-friendly, green life but I am on the way to making changes that you can make too!
Who is OmniWild For?
You. I decided to make this blog for you so that you can be your family’s resident herbalist. You don’t need any previous degrees, no special heritage or religion. As long as you can follow directions, read warnings and have a common sense, this site is for you.
Anyone who wants to embrace herbal, holistic and natural alternatives to chemicals, (whether its throwing out your harsh makeup remover for a gentle herbal one, or curing yourself from a hacking cough rather than taking over the counter meds) this site is for you.
So put the kettle on, put your feet up and have fun exploring the world of herbalism!
